Conditions We Treat
Diagnostic Evaluation
Upon evaluation from one of our physician’s, we will order tests to diagnose your condition and plan treatment. Some of the common tests ordered include:
ALS Clinic
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a neuromuscular disease that attacks motor neurons. This causes progressive paralysis which makes even the simplest movements such as walking, communicating, and eating impossible. Once the disease is diagnosed, specialists and health care professionals at our ALS Clinic offer patients comprehensive treatment in a compassionate setting.
Although it is impossible to erase the weakness and progressive muscle paralysis that accompany ALS, team members strive to maintain a patient’s muscle function and his or her ability to perform the daily activities of life.
Multiple Sclerosis Center
The Great Plains Multiple Sclerosis Center is nationally recognized and has certification from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. One of the first in the region, The Great Plains Multiple Sclerosis Center represents a collaborative partnership between Avera Medical Group Neurology, the Avera Brain & Spine Institute, The Multiple Sclerosis Society and a wide range of professional resources dedicated to MS care.
Headache Center
Headaches affect millions of Americans and can lead to missed days at work, strain in relationships, and overall decrease in the quality of life. We care for patients with the entire spectrum of headaches, from new onset headaches to chronic, longstanding migraines.
Our Headache Center provides counseling on migraine triggers, traditional medical options and access to emerging therapies. Treatments range from advanced therapies to lifestyle changes, and may include neurolenses, eye/brain medical screening, medications, injections or infusions, Botox, acupuncture, exercise and diet, stress reduction, sleep modifications and avoidance of headache triggers.
