Recipe: Mixed Berry Mint Smoothie

Delicious taste leads the way for this anytime drink that is packed with nutrients that can help you stay healthy while maintaining social distance.

But again: it's so delicious ... you win on many fronts. 

And it's simple enough to whip up as a little afternoon project with the family.

Berry Mint Smoothie

Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain kefir
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 1-2 tablespoons fresh mint
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Directions

  1. Combine kefir, berries, juice, mint and honey in a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. These smoothies keep in the refrigerator for up to one day or in the freezer up to 3 months.

Fun Facts

The powerful antioxidants in strawberries work against free radicals which help fight off cancer. 

Strawberries have also been shown to inhibit tumor growth.

Nutrition Facts: One serving provides 137 calories, 1 gram fat, 4 grams fiber and 6 grams protein.
