Renewing Life Event Offers Insight on Living Authentically
Poet Mary Oliver, in a new book, poses a startling question that can inspire us all:
“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
As we consider our answers, hopefully we are able to gain inspiration, and from it, to intentionally choose the direction, quality and purpose of our lives.
It’s often easier said than done, many would say, as life and its realities can get in the way. For people who are undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis, at any phase of treatment, and their loved ones, a little guidance, education and discussion with others can really help to find good answers.
An eight-week program set to begin July 11, Renewing Life™, is one of those occasions. This program can help people chose a life-renewing response to the poet’s question.
Renewing Life offers a proven curriculum of empowerment for participants to live authentically. It can help the participants to find strength to grow out of a challenging life event like cancer. If you take part, you can work to create plans for renewed living in the midst of cancer.
Renewing Life objectives include becoming an active agent in your healing process, and learning communication techniques to enhance relationships. You’ll utilize stress recognition and reduction techniques, as well as ways to recognize how the mind, body and spirit connect to affect illness and healing. The objectives include enhancing individual problem-solving skills, developing a peer support system and becoming aware of and seeking out other support services as needed.
Many who take part in the program are able to develop wellness lifestyles that include a purpose for life, a satisfaction in living, and a sense of joy, and they often discover inner wisdom and self-authenticity.
The program’s content includes psychoneuroimmunology, as well as how our bodies respond to stress. There will be a focus on the differences between “life-draining” and “life-giving” messages, as well as restoring your spirit through grief work, expressing feelings, making meaning and reframing forgiveness, along with creating healing spaces and approaching life wishes.
The event shares concepts that include reflective exercises, affirmations, guided meditations and the sharing of life stories. It’s much more than a stopgap measure or coping mechanism during a time for difficulty. Instead, Renewing Life can serve as catalyst for changing the way you live.
If you’d like to take part, go online to sign up for the event. You also can get more information about it via email.
