Recipe: Cold and Flu Drink

When you feel the sniffles coming on, this recipe will get you feeling healthy and help treat symptoms. Make a batch and freeze so you have it at the ready when needed.

Cold and Flu Drink

Serves: 12

Ingredients

  • 2 whole lemons, juiced
  • 2 juiced oranges
  • 1 whole head of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1½ tablespoons cayenne
  • ½ tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1½ tablespoons honey
  • 3 cups of coconut water (just water will work, but coconut water adds electrolytes)

Instructions

  1. Blend ingredients together.
  2. Pour mixture into silicone ice cube trays. Place on a baking sheet or tray to reduce spilling.
  3. Freeze for 4 hours or overnight.
  4. Transfer into airtight containers or baggie. Try to get the air out.
  5. Store until needed and then defrost to drink. Add one ice cube to hot water or with a hot tea.
