Golden milk is an anti-inflammatory drink that is also soothing. This traditional Indian beverage includes turmeric, which is high in curcumin to boost the immune system and ease symptoms.

Golden Milk
Serves: 2
Ingredients
- 2 cups unsweetened coconut milk (or milk of your choice to reduce fat and calorie count)
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger (or 1 tablespoon fresh minced/grated)
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric (or 1 tablespoon fresh grated/minced)
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper (or 4 black peppercorns – freshly ground)
Optional adds: ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom, and 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
Instructions
- Heat milk and add spices and whisk.
- **For best results simmer spices in the milk for 10 minutes. If using grated and minced spices, strain.
- Sweeten with a touch of dark maple syrup or other healthy sweetener of choice.
- Drink as an evening beverage for soothing, anti-inflammatory benefits.
