Recipe: Mango and Avocado Chutney

Mango and avocado chutney is incredibly healthy and easy to make. Mango is a nutritional powerhouse that has an excellent source of vitamins A, B6 and C and fiber. Avocado is a wholesome, nutrient dense food containing several nutrients important for heart health.

Mango chutney is incredibly versatile. Serve it as a dip or topping for grilled chicken, fish tacos or chips. Also pairs well with burgers and sandwiches or as an appetizer.

Mango and Avocado Chutney

Serves: 10 (1/2 cup each)

Ingredients

  • 2 mangoes, peeled, pitted and diced
  • 2 avocados, peeled, pitted and diced
  • 2 tablespoons Serrano pepper, seeded and minced
  • ¼ cup red onion, diced
  • ¼ cup red pepper, diced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
  • 1 lime, zested and juiced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix.
  2. Allow to sit for at least 10 minutes prior to serving to allow flavors to blend.
