Try Topping this Tasty Take-It-With-You Trail Mix
Trail mix is not a low-calorie choice when it comes to snacks, but it’s well-balanced, natural and in the right container, it holds up well in the car or handbag.
That’s why it can serve as the perfect snack for those busy days when you don’t know when – or where – you’ll have your next meal.
It offers a lot of heart-healthy fats and plant proteins, and it’s a customizable snack you can always modify to best suit your needs. You can skip the sweets and dried fruit to lower the total carbs, or if you need to lower sodium for heart health, you can use low sodium or alternatively seasoned nuts, such as cocoa-dusted almonds.
This mix is a better option than granola or trail mix bars because you skip the sugary glue used to bind everything together.
