5 Steps to Clean & Disinfect High-Traffic Areas
Proper cleaning and disinfection are the keys to lower the risk of COVID-19 and other common illnesses, such as the flu.
But have you ever wondered how to do it effectively? Or what the difference is between disinfecting vs. sanitizing?
We’ve got five easy steps to keep your home clean. Before you get started, take a look at the list of approved disinfectants the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency created.
If you want to make your own disinfectant it is important to mix the proportions correctly. The disinfectant recipe below is provided by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):
- Mix 5 tablespoons bleach per gallon of room temperature water.
- Leave solution on the surface for at least 1 minute.
- Use bleach intended for disinfection with sodium hypochlorite concentration 5 – 6%.
Remember, it’s important to keep all these cleaning products away from children to prevent poisoning.
