Try to exercise with the people at your workplace. Following are some ideas I suggest to start wellness at the workplace:
- Start from the top. Capture your management’s attention with ideas to support wellness activities at your workplace. Come with a plan — they will appreciate it!
- Create wellness teams. They can be the cheerleaders for wellness education and activities in the workplace. Have them come up with ideas and how to implement it.
- Plan group challenges such as walks or education opportunities. Doing activities in a group provides more enthusiasm and participation.
- Evaluate programs by surveys and data to see what is and is not working by getting feedback from your peers.
Remember, good health and fitness go hand-in-hand. Make it easy at first. Start with an easy walk during lunch or morning stretches before you begin the day’s work.
