Supporting & Assisting Nurses

CNAs, PCTs and BHTs are all essential roles in nearly every health care setting, including hospitals, home health care and long-term care facilities. You typically work directly with patients and residents to ensure their comfort and improve the quality of their stay. Some responsibilities may include:

  • Reposition patients in bed.
  • Record patients' health statuses.
  • Assist in health procedures.
  • Follow nutrition plans and feed patients.
  • Clean rooms, linen and bedding.
  • Help residents engage in activities.
  • Build relationships with residents and families.

Support for Nursing Assistant Certification

No prior education or experience is necessary to get hired for this important role in the medical field. Avera provides complete training and hands-on mentorship to all CNA employees acquiring certification. A 75-hour training program is designed to prepare you for the nursing assistant certification exam. Avera will also cover the cost of certification in most cases depending on the state where you work in our region.
