Ai Chi is an easy-to-follow Japanese water exercise program that uses deep breathing and slow, broad movements of arms, legs and torso in a flowing, continual pattern. It provides strengthening of the upper and lower body and the core abdominal muscles in a relaxed atmosphere. Lights are turned low and gentle Asian music plays to start the relaxation process. Nineteen moves are done in shoulder deep, 92 degree water. Emphasis is placed on the physical movements, breath control and imagery.
