This is an all day Saturday Prepared Childbirth class. You will learn about the signs of labor, stages of labor, comfort measures to use during labor, pain relief options, information about Cesarean Section and have limited time for practicing breathing and relaxation. It is much information in a condensed amount of time! This class does not include information on breastfeeding or caring for your newborn. Please register for a Newborn Care class and a Breastfeeding class for that information. Lunch is NOT provided, please plan to bring a lunch with you. Also note, there is no microwave available in the building. If you would like snacks or beverages throughout the day, please bring those with you as well. Due to COVID precautions all participants are screened prior to each class, masks are required during the class, and class sizes are currently limited. Hospital tours are restricted at this time and participants are encouraged to practice safe social distancing.
This class will be held in the Avera McKennan Education Center located on the ground floor of the Orthopedic Institute at 810 E. 23rd St.
