Natural Birth Basics with the Avera Midwives

An email will be sent to you about 1 week prior to the start of class reminding you of the time and location and what to bring to class.  Cost covers expectant Mom and her partner.

Description

Talk with one of our certified nurse midwives to help you understand the natural birth process and how to prepare for it. You’ll get hands-on experience using comfort measures for labor and birth so you and your partner are ready for the big day. This one-day class will discuss:

  • Positions for labor and birth
  • Massage techniques
  • Hydrotherapy
  • Aromatherapy
  • Meditation
  • Breathing techniques
  • Relaxation exercises
  • Birth planning and preferences
  • Labor support options

Class will be held at the Avera McKennan Education Center located on the ground floor of the Orthopedic Institute at 810 E. 23rd St. Cost of class covers you and your support person.
