The Prepared Childbirth classes are designed to prepare you for labor, birth, transitions to parenthood, baby care skills, and breastfeeding. This 5 week series of classes covers information on labor and delivery, comfort measures and breathing techniques, and pain relief options in the first 2 weeks of class. Weeks 3 and 4 cover caring for Mom and new baby after birth. The last week covers Breastfeeding. The class will be held in the Avera McKennan Education Center located on the ground floor of the Orthopedic Institute at 810 E. 23rd St. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a pillow night 2 for practice sessions. At this time masks are optional and participants are encouraged to practice safe social distancing. In person hospital tours are restricted at this time, however we will do a virtual tour during the series. The fee for this class is $120 which covers both Mom and her partner.
