Connecting with Patients

One of the reasons Dr. Martin loves his field is being able to meet new patients every day. He believes it is important to take the time to listen to the patient's concerns before creating a plan. Because plastic and reconstructive surgery is so vast, he also enjoys working and collaborating with the other specialists.

Dr. Martin served in the Medical Corps for the United States Army where he received extensive training in reconstructive surgery and treating patients for traumatic military injuries.

He is trained using the latest techniques for breast reconstruction following a breast cancer diagnosis. Dr. Martin is also certified in Hidden Scar™ breast surgery. This innovative procedure provides excellent cosmetic results by removing the tumor and a slight amount of surrounding tissue through a small incision in a well-hidden area.

Personal Interests

Dr. Martin spends much of his free time with his family. He enjoys sports and being outdoors. He is an avid cyclist and you're more likely to see him biking to work or around town than driving a car.

You literally spent about 2 minutes in the room talking to me about the procedure he wanted to do. No discussion no asking anything about me no asking for my input. The plan was for the procedure was so vague that when I got to the desk to schedule it I was confused and had to ask questions I couldn't answer.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Martin and his entire staff. I am a nurse in a clinic so know how things usually run. I know these guys go above and beyond for their patients every day. They have for me for 8 years. I have sent several patients to them and to Avera and will continue to do so any chance I get.
