About Me

After graduating with a degree in biochemistry, Daniel Lister, MD, felt pursuing a career in medicine to improve people’s health and quality of life was a worthy calling. During his educational rotations, it was very clear that the field of orthopedics was his favorite.

Today, he delivers comprehensive and expert care as an orthopedic surgeon at Avera Orthopedics in Marshall, MN.

Expert Care in Orthopedic Surgery

Dr. Lister offers both surgical and nonsurgical solutions for a variety of conditions related to the bones, muscles and joints, including:

  • Arthritis
  • Joint pain
  • Tendon tears or ruptures
  • Fractures
  • Broken bones
  • Dislocations
  • Orthopedic trauma

He uses state-of-the-art technology and procedures to deliver personalized care. Dr. Lister performs arthroscopic procedures for both the knee and shoulder, as well as joint replacements for the hip and knee.

“I used to play sports while in school,” he said, “so it’s especially rewarding to treat sports-related musculoskeletal injuries in both adults and children.”

The Golden Rule of Health Care

Like many other physicians, Dr. Lister knows what it’s like to be a patient himself — particularly in orthopedics. His philosophy of care is simple: to treat all patients as in the very same manner he’d expect to be treated.

Active Lifestyle

When Dr. Lister is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and engaging in various outdoor activities, such as camping, fishing and hunting.
