About Me

Dr. J.D. Ries graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in biology. He continued his education at Pacific University College of Optometry and earned his Doctorate of Optometry in 1996. Dr. J.D. is a member of the Minnesota Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and has served as president of the Southwest Minnesota Optometric Society.

Dr. J.D. Ries enjoys all outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, and playing sports with his family.

Very knowledgeable, listened to my concerns, addressed my concerns, kind, caring, great sense of humor, waited to discuss his findings and recommendations until he completed the entire exam. Very personable. Very empathetic and just one great guy in general. Will definitely recommend Dr. Ries to friends and family.
