Jonathan Yazhari, DPM, provides compassionate, expert care for foot and ankle conditions and injuries at Avera Medical Group Podiatry in Yankton, SD. He pursued a career in medicine because it combined his love of science with his desire to serve people with compassion during vulnerable moments.
“I chose the field of podiatry because it allows me to treat both acute and chronic conditions surgically while also building meaningful relationships with my patients in the clinic,” said Dr. Yazhari.
He treats a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, including bunions, hammertoes, fractures, arthritis, skin and nail conditions, and more.
Expert Care for the Feet and Ankles
Dr. Yazhari is committed to staying at the forefront of surgical and nonsurgical treatment options — helping patients find relief from pain and get them back to what they love. For example, he utilizes CT-guided, 3D-printed patient-specific instrumentation to optimize outcomes in patients undergoing total ankle replacement surgery. He also implements advanced minimally invasive techniques when treating traumatic and sports-related injuries.
Dr. Yazhari also has a clinical interest and passion for wound healing and diabetic limb salvage. He employs plastic surgery techniques for wound reconstruction along with the latest advances in regenerative medicine, including bioengineered cellular and tissue-based products.
“By using the newest modalities, we can heal chronic wounds and save limbs that were once considered unsalvageable,” he said.
Active Lifestyle
When he’s not at work, you’ll find Dr. Yazhari enjoying time with his wife. They love to cook and travel together. And, of course, they hang out with and spoil their English bulldog, Frank.
Dr. Yazhari is fluent in Farsi.
