About Me

Specialized Breast Cancer Treatment and Technology

Dr. Reiland's special focus in breast cancer and breast health allows her to research and recommend the most advanced and appropriate treatment methods for patients. She has a special interest in breast oncoplasty and Electron-based IntraOperative Radiation Therapy (IORT).

Important Initiatives

Dr. Reiland is closely involved with two initiatives focusing on prevention and accurate diagnosis of breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Expertise

Today, Dr. Reiland is an invited speaker nationally and internationally, teaching techniques using oncoplasty, and oncoplasty with IOeRT. She has lectured in the United States, South America, Europe and China, as well as acted as a consultant to breast centers developing an IOeRT program in the US and Germany.

IORT Program

Avera was awarded a grant which allowed us to start an IORT program. In 2011 Avera began offering oncoplasty with the HIOB protocol providing excellent cosmetic outcomes and reduced radiation treatment time to three weeks. For select women, oncoplasty with a single dose of radiation delivered in the operating room eliminates additional radiation treatments.

Personal Interests

Dr. Reiland likes to spend time outdoors when she is not helping breast cancer patients. Specifically, she enjoys biking and kayaking. She also loves to travel.
