As a child, Kassidy Boyd, MD, enjoyed helping others. In fact, her first patients were kittens, baby birds and the occasional salamander. Later, she helped at the local assisted living facility where she befriended the residents she cared for — solidifying her decision to pursue a career in medicine.
Today, Dr. Boyd provides internal medicine and pediatric care at Avera Medical Group Family Health Center in Mitchell, SD.
“I chose my combined specialty because not only did I enjoy helping older populations, I also fell in love with the energetic nature of helping kids,” said Dr. Boyd.
Expert Care in Internal Medicine
As an expert in internal medicine, Dr. Boyd cares for a variety of health conditions adults age 18 and up face, such as:
- High blood pressure
- Diabetes
- Heart disease
- Memory disorders
She helps adults stay up-to-date on cancer screenings, manage multiple medications, establish a healthy lifestyle, and recover after surgery through follow-up care.
Expert Care in Pediatrics
Dr. Boyd also cares for the well-being of children. This includes routine checkups to caring for pediatric conditions, such as autism spectrum disorders or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Active Lifestyle
When she isn’t at work, Dr. Boyd loves spending time with her family. She also enjoys being outside four-wheeling, gardening, or mushroom and asparagus hunting.
