About Me

Mark Hagy, MD, brings 14 years of experience in orthopedics and sports medicine to Pierre.

Dr. Hagy is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and fellowship-trained in foot and ankle surgery, sports medicine and total knee arthroplasty. He also performs anterior hip replacement and revision surgery to cover a full range of orthopedic care.

His experience includes serving as specialist for several NCAA Division I sports teams, the New Orleans Saints and many others who expected the best in orthopedics skill and sports medicine know-how.

Active Lifestyle

Dr. Hagy came to South Dakota from the coast because he loves farming. He’s part of a 10,000-acre operation when he’s not in the operating room or seeing patients. He also loves the openness of the Pierre area's outdoors for hunting and fishing on or around Lake Oahe.

Dr. Hagy seems very knowledgeable but I have never had an appointment that last more than 8 minutes. He's not very thorough in his exam, does a poor job of listening to the patient and constantly cuts you off, he also does a poor job of explaining next steps or rationale behind decision making. It feels very callous, rushed, and impersonal. In fact im considering seeking a second opinion at a different facility.
