About Me

Muhammad Ali Khaqan, MD, comes from a family of physicians. Witnessing his loved ones compassionately care for patients inspired him to pursue a similar path. Today, Dr. Khaqan provides specialized, compassionate care in hepatology at Avera Liver Disease – Dawley Farm in Sioux Falls, SD.

The complexity of liver-related conditions and the evolving nature of treatments drew him to the field of hepatology. While in medical school, Dr. Khaqan participated in community efforts to raise awareness about hepatitis B and C.

“I was proud to help educate people on prevention and treatment of hepatitis,” he said.
