Razvan Nicolescu, MD, chose a career in medicine because it combined two existing passions: his love of science and the internal drive to help people.
Today, Dr. Nicolescu practices as an orthopedic surgeon at Avera Orthopedics in Sioux Falls, SD. He specializes in treating disorders and injuries of the fingers, hand, wrist, forearm and elbow in adults and children.
“The upper extremity is an intricate and complicated part of our anatomy,” said Dr. Nicolescu. “Its challenges and the reward of caring for patients drew me in.”

Active Lifestyle
When he’s not working, Dr. Nicolescu enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. As for personal interests, he likes to play sports, work out at the gym, and watch football.
