About Me

It was her mother. Dr. Avendano pursued a career in medicine after seeing the compassionate care her mother, an OB/GYN in Nicaragua, had with her patients.

“She was my role model,” she said. “I always wanted to be like her.”

Today, Dr. Avendano provides passionate and expert care in family medicine and obstetrics at Avera Medical Group in Granite Falls, MN.

Expert Care in Obstetrics and Family Medicine

Dr. Avendano provides a wide spectrum of services in family medicine and obstetrics. Some of these include:

  • Skin growth removals with biopsy
  • Routine yearly checkups
  • Management of chronic conditions

  • Pap smear and colposcopy with biopsy
  • Endometrial biopsy
  • Pre- and postnatal care
  • Delivery services for mom and baby

Fluent in Spanish

Dr. Avendano loves caring for everyone in her community. Her fluency in Spanish helps Hispanic individuals get great care with the extra comfort of communication.

“When I’m able to speak with patients in their native language, it helps them feel more confident and connected in their care,” said Dr. Avendano.

Active Lifestyle

Dr. Avendano enjoys spending time with family and gardening. In the summer, she makes delicious dishes for her family and packs her freezer full in preparation for the winter.

“I’ve been really ambitious lately,” she said, “growing corn, herbs, basically anything you can put in a salad!”
