Part science and part art, radiologic technology is an integral part of modern medicine. Radiographers, or radiologic technologists, create detailed images for diagnosing patients. They use sophisticated equipment to produce radiographic images, like X-rays, at the request of a physician. This role is highly technical and requires specialized training, licensure and hands-on experience.
Avera Sacred Heart Hospital School of Radiologic Technology began in 1948 and is fully accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The program’s current award is eight years. See general program accreditation information and the current accreditation award letter on JRCERT.org.
