Applying for the Radiologic Technology Program
Those seeking admission can obtain application materials by calling 605-668-8158. No provisions are available to apply online. Open application begins October 1 and ends the following July 1. The program director reviews all applications and documentation. Personal interviews are granted and arranged with eligible applicants. The program accepts up to six students per year and three alternates.

- Minimum of three references are required. To obtain the hardcopy reference form, call 605-668-8158. No provisions are available online
- Official high school transcript or GED certificate with scores
- Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you wish to claim educational course credits
- Copies of certificates such as: CNA, First Aid, Basic Life Support, American Red Cross, etc.
- Documented health-related work/volunteer experience
- Documented shadow experience specific to radiology
Eligibility for Interview
- Applicants must be enrolled with an affiliate institute or have completed a minimum of an associate degree. It is the responsibility of the applicant to verify with the registrar of their degree-granting institution that all degree requirements will be met prior to the start date of the radiography program.
- Per Avera Sacred Heart School of Radiologic Technology, degree requirements must include coursework in college algebra, speech, composition, medical terminology, physics I and anatomy & physiology I & II. The lowest grade in any of these courses must be C or higher.
Interview Process
- nterviews will be granted by the admissions committee for those eligible and with completed application materials. The final decision for admission into the School of Radiologic Technology will be at the discretion of the admissions committee.
- Upon acceptance into the program, a non-refundable deposit of $450.00 is required to hold the position for the next program start date. The program starts in August of each year.
- In the event of a student’s withdrawal prior to the start of the program, an applicant may be selected from an alternate list, pending the discretion of the admissions committee.
