Shadow Program

To introduce prospective students to the field of Radiologic Technology, the Avera Sacred Heart School of Radiologic Technology offers a shadow program. This program allows individuals to visit the radiology department and obtain first hand experience.

During the visit, you will be assigned a technologist to take you around the department. The technologist, a member of our radiology department, will explain the various procedures being performed and answer any questions you may have about the profession.

Shadow students should be neatly dressed in a scrub uniform or dress pants with a dress shirt and closed-toed, comfortable walking shoes with socks/stockings. No shorts, jeans, flip-flops, T-shirts, tank tops, strapless/sleeveless tops, hoodies or other clothing not representative of a professional appearance are allowed. No strong powder or perfumes. Hair should be pulled up and away from face. No body piercings, other than one single studded earring per ear, should be visible.
