At Lakes Regional Healthcare, you can take advantage of the latest in breast cancer screening technology – 3-D mammography. This innovative technology is especially beneficial for those with dense breast tissue. With 3-D mammography, a series of low-dose X-rays are taken. These enhanced images allow a radiologist to see specific areas within the breast tissue more clearly.

Robotic-Arm Assisted Orthopedic Surgery
Lakes Regional Healthcare is the only hospital in northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota to offer robotic-arm assisted surgery for partial knee replacement, total knee replacement, and total hip replacement procedures. Birth Center for Expecting Parents

64-slice CT Scanner
Lakes Regional Healthcare has a new 64-slice CT scanner, essential for the appropriate diagnosis of various injuries and conditions. This scanner provides much more detailed images to get an accurate indication of position, size, and density of objects within the body, which aids in improving diagnostic results. It also provides a lower radiation dose than other scanners, which improves patient safety.

Scholarships Available for High School and College Students
Lakes Regional Healthcare Foundation (LRHF) is now providing scholarships to area high school and college students as a result of gifts received from area businesses and residents, and from funds recently raised at their annual Grape Escape event.
Applications are due April 1 by 12:00 noon, at Dickinson County high school counselor offices, and by emailing Sonja Hamm, LRHF Executive Director. Applications will be reviewed and recipients will be selected by the LRHF Board of Directors. The scholarships will be awarded in May 2019. The scholarship funds will be paid during the month of August 2019 and will be paid directly to the college upon receiving a confirmation of enrollment for the fall 2019 semester.
