About

For more than 70 years, Creighton’s hospital and clinic have proudly served Knox County and the surrounding region with compassionate health care. In 2011, Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD, purchased the Creighton facilities, making them part of the Avera system.

Today, the local team continues to provide excellent and quality care to our communities while also being supported by Avera’s larger network of specialized services and experts.

Patients & Visitors

  • Parking for emergency services is located on the north side of the building near the entrance with a red emergency awning. All other patients and visitors may park in the main front parking lot.
  • All non-emergency patients and visitors are welcome to enter through the main entrance and check in with reception just inside.
  • Most general care areas welcome visitors during the day. Please keep in mind that doors to the facility lock after 4 PM for security purposes.
  • We recommend no more than two visitors at a time. Minors and dependent adults must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • We may restrict visitors, temporarily close and adjust hours to protect the safety of patients and staff.
  • Find a quiet place for prayer or meditation in the chapel on campus.
  • Learn about your patient rights, responsibilities and role in safe health care.
  • If you have concerns or a complaint about your care:
    • Contact the department or clinic manager
    • For written concerns or complaints, contact the hospital’s main phone number and ask to speak to the risk management department.
    • Should you have a concern that is unresolved, you have the right to contact the Nebraska Department of Health, Health Facility Investigations, P.O. Box 94986, Lincoln, NE 68509-4986 or at 402-471-0316.

Transportation Services

Avera Creighton Hospital Transportation System can provide transportation to riders originating in Antelope, Boyd, Cedar, Holt, Knox and Pierce counties to and from our hospital or another destination, for medical or non-medical purposes. This service is open to the public as time, drivers and vehicle availability allow, with preference given to elderly and disabled persons.

This service also accepts Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services waivers, helping people with disabilities and seniors who need assistance with daily living to remain in their homes and community by having transportation available for non-medical trips. For more information, review our Title VI Non-Discrimination Plan and our Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance Plan.

To schedule rides, call 402-358-5734.

Avera Lab Direct Access Testing

This location also offers Avera Lab Direct Access Testing, which lets you quickly and confidentially order a variety of tests without a doctor’s order. These tests help you monitor ongoing risks — such as complete blood count, glucose, lipids or hemoglobin — but shouldn’t be a replacement for the personalized care of your primary care provider.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 4 PM

Laboratory

Same-day lab results and other diagnostic tests are available. Right inside our facility, you have access to a wide range of laboratory services that contribute to accurate diagnoses of medical conditions. Expert specialists conduct safe and reliable lab testing, helping you and your provider get the results you need to start an effective and personalized treatment plan.

Radiology & Imaging

We offer innovative imaging technology, including X-ray, CT scan, 3D mammography and ultrasound, on site, as well as MRI and nuclear medicine available via mobile units. Experts conduct comfortable and quick imaging, so you receive an accurate diagnosis which will determine the right treatment for your health.
