Avera’s emergency services are supported by telemedicine — giving you and your emergency care team immediate access to specialized personnel via two-way video, if needed for your care. These specialists act as extra eyes who assist your hands-on experts as they work swiftly to care for or stabilize you.
Our emergency department was designed with our patients in mind. If you arrive by ambulance, you are unloaded in our ambulance garage before entering the facility. This prevents exposure to the weather and helps protect your privacy. Those not arriving by ambulance have a designated entrance on the west side of the building. Follow the signage and look for the painted red entrance marked “Emergency.”
Our team will ensure you’re stabilized and cared for in a private area to further preserve your dignity. This flow of patient rooms also allows staff efficiency in serving patients and in team communication.
