Gynecologic Cancer Care for the Region

Patients at this gynecologic oncology clinic can get a full range of treatments from the same specialists including surgery, chemotherapy, radiation oncology and participation in clinical trials.

Cancers We Treat

Patients from all over the region come to our clinic or via virtual visits to see our team of specialists who are experts in detecting and treating cancers of the female reproductive system. Many times, patients are referred to our team from primary care or because they’ve had an abnormal Pap test screening exam. Our board-certified oncologists treat gynecologic conditions including:

  • Endometrial (uterine) cancer
  • Ovarian, fallopian tube and peritoneal lining cancers
  • Cervical, vulvar and vaginal cancers
  • Pregnancy-related cancer (molar pregnancies)

Types of Cancer Treatments

In addition to your oncology team in this clinic, Avera has a larger, integrated team committed to you. We offer:

  • Surgical care including advanced, minimally invasive and robotic techniques
  • Radiation therapy
  • Chemotherapy and biotherapy
  • Genomic medicine (also known as precision oncology)
  • Connection to clinical trials that may provide treatment options in addition to standard of care

Infusion Center

Receive your chemotherapy and infusion treatments under the care of some of the region’s foremost experts in cancer care. Most infusion suites are private and can be made semi-private by opening sliding doors. This gives patients the choice to receive infusions privately, with friends or family, or enjoying the company of other patients. Infusion suites feature custom-built chairs for comfort as well as TV and plenty of outlets for personal electronic devices.

Genetic Counseling

Our genetic testing and counseling team can help determine if you have higher risk for certain types of cancer based on your DNA and other risk factors. This approach helps you and your family members make informed decisions about prevention measures and screening options for early detection of cancer.

24/7 Patient Navigation

Nurses and social workers are here to talk through your questions or concerns. The Navigation Center is available to anyone impacted by cancer including families. No matter what you face, there’s a real person waiting to help just one phone call away.

Second Opinion Consultations

It’s common for people to want a second opinion regarding a cancer diagnosis. We can help. Submit a second opinion request to our cancer navigation center.

Survivorship Care

When a woman completes her treatment regimen, patients have an appointment with a social worker and a nurse practitioner who cover social, emotional and safety concerns. They also provide support resources and discuss the future follow-up plan of care.
