We Moved to Avera on Louise
We are excited to let you know that Avera Medical Group Rheumatology moved to the new Avera on Louise Health Campus in Sioux Falls. We will begin seeing patents at the new location starting on Nov. 4, 2019. Our new address is 6100 S. Louise Ave., Suite 1130, Sioux Falls, SD 57108.
The Avera on Louise Health Campus will bring together numerous health services at a convenient, patient-friendly location designed to meet the changing needs of those we serve.
Our board-certified physicians provide expert care of autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. In autoimmune diseases, the immune system attacks various parts of the body, such as joints, leading to inflammation and damage. Some of the rheumatic conditions we treat include:
Region's Only Gout Clinic
The best approach to stopping gout pain and reducing the rate at which it recurs is with a comprehensive individualized plan of care. That's why we've set up the region's only dedicated Gout Clinic.
Gout is a treatable form of inflammatory arthritis and affects millions of men and women. It's caused by an accumulation of uric acid in the joints and soft tissues, leading to an inflammatory immune response. Left untreated, gout may lead to joint deformities, soft tissue nodules, bone erosion, possible kidney stones and an increased incidence of cardiovascular disease.
At the Gout Clinic, the third Thursday of each month, from 1 - 4 p.m., a team of physicians, nurses and a clinical pharmacist sees and treats patients with gout. This team develops and individualized treatment plan to most effectively address each patient's needs.
Treatment plans may consist of short-term and long-term medications, dietary changes and weight management.
If you are an established patient or a physician and you need to reach a rheumatologist other than during business hours, call 605-322-6625 to be connected with the on-call physician.
