This clinic helps women with a range of female pelvic disorders, including:
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Urinary tract and bowel disorders including urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, urgency or frequency, fecal incontinence and constipation
- Sexual dysfunction, vaginal dryness and painful intercourse
- Pelvic pain and pelvic pressure
- Interstitial cystitis (IC)/bladder pain syndrome
Typically, these issues affect women after menopause, but they can happen to younger women, especially associated with childbirth.
Right here in Sioux Falls, you have access to advanced treatment options for pelvic floor conditions. Our team has extensive training, expertise and experience in vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic surgical management of pelvic organ prolapse. We also offer hidden scar hysterectomy for total hysterectomy through a small, hidden scar inside the vagina.
In our clinic, we offer many different therapies that can provide long-term clinical relief if you’re having challenges controlling your bladder or bowel. Among options is pelvic floor physical therapy, as well as other effective therapies.
Nerve Stimulation Therapy
Generally, these types of therapies provide gentle stimulation to nerves controlling the bowel and bladder. They’re all aimed to get you back on track, experience fewer accidents and trips to the bathroom, and gain more confidence.
- Axonics® Therapy: For overactive bladder (including urinary urgency incontinence), bowel (fecal) incontinence and urinary retention, this therapy can restore normal control and result in symptom improvement.
- InterStim™ therapy: Sometimes called sacral neuromodulation (SNM), this treatment stimulates the sacral nerves to improve bowel function.
- Percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS): In this low risk, nonsurgical treatment for urinary incontinence, an acupuncture needle is placed behind the ankle bone and gently stimulated. This is done in the clinic, and no anesthesia is needed.
Botox Treatments
Botox can be injected into the bladder to help with urinary urgency, urinary frequency and urinary incontinence. This is done in the clinic, no anesthesia needed, and only takes a few minutes.
Our leading edge therapies include MonaLisa Touch® laser therapy to relieve vaginal dryness, burning or painful intercourse.
