Finding Us: This occupational medicine clinic is on the first floor inside Avera Family Health Center – Marion Rd near the intersection of West 26th Street and South Marion Road (south of Hy-Vee). Use the southwest entrance. Free parking is available next to the building.

Board-certified occupational health physicians, nationally certified medical examiners and ergonomic analysts will partner with you to develop a customized health program.

Testing, Physicals, Treatment & More

We offer services and tests to prepare individuals for employment, help maintain employees’ health, and care for employees during recovery. Services include:

  • Medical treatment, management and follow-up for work-related injuries with acute injury walk-in availability and return-to-work plans
  • Physical exams including pre-employment, fit for duty, OSHA periodic. Depending on the type of exam needed, services may include:
    • Eyesight exam
    • Immunizations including flu, tetanus (Tdap) and hepatitis B
    • Lab titers (immunization status) and TB testing
    • Labs such as bloodborne pathogen, heavy metal or lead testing
    • Chest X-ray
    • Job function testing and therapy
    • Mental readiness exams
  • Regulatory and surveillance exams
    • Public Safety exams (law enforcement and firefighters)
    • Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) respirator medical exams, including asbestos and silicosis screening exams with B-read chest X-ray and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) medical surveillance
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) medical exams (nationally certified)
    • Breath alcohol
    • Drug testing
    • Certified trainer for DOT drug testing collectors (STTs) and breath alcohol technicians (BATs)
    • Substance abuse program (DOT compliance and non-DOT)
  • Hearing screening and audio work-related determination exams by Certified Occupation Hearing Conservation (COHC) trained staff
  • Specialty exams including impairment rating examinations (IRE), permanent partial disability (PPD), independent medical examinations (IME), second opinions and causation review
  • Spirometry screening, National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) trained staff
  • Respiratory fit testing
  • Certified medical review officers (MRO) with reasonable suspicion training
  • Evaluation for maximal medical improvement
