birthing room

Upon arrival to the Women’s Center, you will be placed in one of our state-of-the-art labor and delivery rooms. You will remain in this room until after the birth of your baby.

Delivery suite with tv

Our labor and delivery rooms feature an HD TV, birthing bed, a storage cabinet holding labor supplies and plenty of space for your belongings, as well as a recliner for your support person.

Delivery suite monitor system

Upon admission, you will be monitored by a centralized fetal monitor system. The monitor depicts the baby’s heart rate, as well as contractions. Additional portable fetal monitors are available if you are allowed to ambulate during labor. Your provider is able to view this system at the office, at home, or on their phone -- keeping them abreast of your progress.

Tracking bracelets

We are proud of the security measures in the Women’s Center protecting both you and your infant. In addition to being a locked unit, babies receive a HUGs tracking tag that is placed around their ankle. This allows staff to know the location of your infant at all times, whether they are in the room with you, in the nursery, or in a portable bassinet. Mothers receive a KISSES bracelet that is synched to your infant’s HUGs tag. If you need to rest and want your infant to go to the nursery, the system will make a harmonious sound indicating the correct infant/mother match upon returning your baby to you.

mother's room

After delivery, you will be moved to one our nine spacious postpartum rooms. Each room has a whirlpool tub/shower for you to enjoy, as well as a comfortable recliner for breastfeeding or for your support person. Each room offers a small refrigerator as well.

This is an alternate view of the postpartum room. You’ll notice it features a white board with your nurse's name, your pain level and other important information.

Baby Cradles

Your infant will be placed in one of our bassinets during their stay. Infants must be transported to and from the nursery in the bassinet. For safety and security reasons, infants are never to be carried in the hallways.

Baby Cradles 2

Breastfeeding is encouraged as the gold standard in infant nutrition, and staff are trained in breastfeeding support to assist you. Boppy pillows are available on the unit if you wish to leave yours at home. If you prefer formula over breastfeeding, the hospital supplies Similac products for you to utilize during your stay, and nursing staff can assist you with that request.

nursery equipment

The nursery is equipped with an infant warmer, monitors and other safety equipment. We encourage couplet care or having your baby in your room with you so you can observe feeding cues and become familiar with your little one. Some infants stay in the room with their mothers the entire stay. However, it is necessary for some infants to spend the first few hours in the nursery, allowing providers and staff an opportunity to assess your infant. Your infant will be returned to you as soon as possible.
