Parking

Avera Queen of Peace has free parking options for patients and visitors on and around the hospital campus. To help you locate facilities and parking on campus, you can find signage with wayfinding details. If you have additional questions on finding us or where to park, call 605-995-2000.

Visiting Hours for General Care Access

To foster a caring and healing environment, we ask you to follow visiting hours and policies. Visiting hours may differ in the various patient care units. Please check with a nurse on the unit you are visiting.

  • Visiting hours for general care areas at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital are 5 AM to 9 PM.
  • We recommend no more than two visitors at a time.
  • Minors and dependent adults must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • Visitation in general care areas may change subject to department leader discretion.
  • We may restrict visitors, temporarily close buildings or adjust hours to protect the safety of patients and staff.
  • Avera staff are committed to providing a healing and safe environment for all.

Behavior Expectations

For your safety and ours, aggressive and threatening behavior will not be tolerated. This includes:

  • Physical assault
  • Verbal harassment
  • Abusive language
  • Sexual language
  • Threats of any kind
  • Failure to follow staff instructions
  • Possession or use of alcohol, drugs or weapons

On-Campus Amenities

To support your comfort and calm any nerves you may be feeling, you can enjoy the following Avera Queen of Peace amenities.

  • Find quiet places for prayer or meditation in the chapel located right inside the lobby of the main hospital entrance.
  • Access free public internet on campus.
  • Make use of waiting areas conveniently located on each floor.
  • Enjoy a meal or snack using our dining options. Vending machines with drinks and snacks are available around campus. Visit our hospital cafeteria during these hours:
    • Breakfast: 6:30 – 10 AM
    • Lunch: 11:30 AM – 1:15 PM
    • Dinner: 5 – 6 PM
