Physicians care for patients in our department 24/7, and we are equipped with advanced technology for high-quality and safe emergency care.
If a patient requires a hospital stay, our emergency staff stabilizes them before admission to our hospital, which is a designated community trauma hospital. Avera also has specialized transport teams who operate Careflight helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft when needed in emergencies, including transport to higher-level care centers such as Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls.
