About

Our critical access hospital was established in 1947 as Jerauld County Hospital to honor those residents of Jerauld County who lost their lives in World War II. Avera Weskota Memorial Hospital has been an affiliate of Avera since 2000. The facility is award-winning for excellence and provides quality care to Jerauld County and the surrounding region.

Patients & Visitors

  • All patients and visitors may park in the main front parking lot on the south side of the building.
  • Emergency patients and visitors may enter through the emergency department entrance on the west side of the building. Therapy patients may use the entrance to the north of the emergency department. All other patients and visitors are welcome to enter through the main front entrance.

Laboratory

Right inside our facility, you have access to a wide range of laboratory services that contribute to accurate diagnoses of medical conditions. Expert specialists conduct safe and reliable lab testing, helping you and your provider get the results you need to start an effective and personalized treatment plan.

Avera Lab Direct Access Testing

This location offers Avera Lab Direct Access Testing, which lets you quickly and confidentially order a variety of tests without a doctor’s order. These tests help you monitor ongoing risks — such as complete blood count, glucose, lipids or hemoglobin — but shouldn’t be a replacement for the personalized care of your primary care provider.

Location: Main floor of the hospital. Stop at the front desk for directions to your appointment.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 4 PM

Radiology & Imaging

We offer innovative imaging technology, including CT, ultrasound and echocardiogram on site, as well as digital mammography available via mobile unit. Experts conduct comfortable and quick imaging, so you receive an accurate diagnosis which will determine the right treatment for your health.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM

Mammography

Avera Weskota Memorial Hospital offers digital mammograms, an important health screening for women ages 40 and older. Mammography is available via a mobile unit. Request an appointment at this location or call 605-539-4547.

Outpatient Services

This location offers several outpatient services:

  • IV infusions of medications or fluids can help treat an illness, chronic disorder or other health condition. You must have a doctor’s referral to receive these infusion services.
  • Non-chemotherapy injections ordered by providers and preauthorized with insurance are offered.
  • Bladder scans use sound waves to make images of the inside of the body, allowing technicians to look at your bladder and nearby organs.

Outreach Specialty Services

Outreach services include infectious disease, cardiovascular, hematology, transplant, oncology, nephrology, urology, hepatology and general surgery. These services are available via telemedicine, giving you the convenience of care close to home. You can come into our Wessington Springs location for a scheduled virtual appointment with a specialty provider.

Schedule: Call 605-539-1201.
