At this AveraNow walk-in clinic – located inside Hy-Vee on South Minnesota Avenue – you have options. You can choose to see a provider in person or via telemedicine at our AveraNow kiosk. Either way, you’ll benefit from the ability to see a licensed family health care practitioner when you need it most.
Walk-In Care for Common Illnesses
Receive quick and convenient treatment for simple illnesses without an appointment at AveraNow. Our in-person providers treat a variety of symptoms and conditions, including:
- Athlete's foot
- Burning or frequent urination
- Cold sore
- Ear pain or itch
- Insect bite
- Joint pain
- Minor back pain
- Minor burn or sunburn
- Nasal congestion
- Nausea or vomiting
- Pink eye
- Rash or itch
- Sinus pain or pressure
- Skin infections
- Sore throat
- Upset stomach
You can also take advantage of a variety of blood tests for a flat fee through our Avera QuickLabs tests.
If needed, AveraNow providers can prescribe most prescriptions for common illnesses. Have your prescription filled at the Hy-Vee pharmacy for added convenience.
AveraNow In-Person Provider Visits
When you choose to see one of our medical providers in person, you can take advantage of additional services, such as:

AveraNow in-person visits are available for patients 18 months and older.
How Do I Pay for an AveraNow In-Person Visit?
In-person provider visits can be processed through insurance, but insurance is not required. We accept several health plans, Medicare, flexible spending accounts (FSA), health savings accounts (HSA), cash, check and charge.
AveraNow Kiosk Virtual Visits
If a provider isn’t available in person, if there’s a line and you don’t have time to wait, or if your illness or injury can be treated via a virtual visit, stop by our AveraNow kiosk.
The kiosk connects you to a provider via secure, high-definition video in a private room which is also equipped with easy-to-use biometric and remote examination devices such as an otoscope, blood pressure cuff and more.
Virtual kiosk visits are available for patients 2 years and older.
How Do I Pay for an AveraNow Virtual Visit?
AveraNow virtual visits are not billed to insurance. Instead, the cost is a flat fee of $49 payable by credit or debit card. This may make it a more affordable option for those who don’t have insurance or those who have a high-deductible plan or HSA.
AveraNow virtual visits may be covered by your insurance. Check with your insurance company to verify your benefits.
AveraNow virtual visits do qualify for medical reimbursement as an allowable expense, so you can use your flexible spending account for payment. Check with IRS regulations or your flex benefits administrator every year as eligible items and services can change.
