Don & Carmen Meyer

The building is named in honor of Don and Carmen Meyer, and their commitment to quality cancer care in Aberdeen. The late Coach Meyer and his wife Carmen spoke extensively about the expert cancer care and access to advanced technology and expert treatment he received at Avera.

The Helmsley Charitable Trust

The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust provided a $3.4-million grant to equip the cancer center with a fully digital linear accelerator technology. This machine offers enhanced imaging and the capability for a full range of radiation treatments.

Radiology & Imaging

If your care team orders scans or other imaging to diagnose a condition or check progress, you’ll benefit from innovative imaging technology such as MRI and CT scans and X-rays.

Location: 1st floor in the main hospital

Laboratory 

You have access to a wide range of laboratory services that contribute to accurate diagnoses of medical conditions. Expert specialists conduct safe and reliable lab testing, helping you and your provider get the results you need to start an effective and personalized treatment plan.

Location: Avera Cancer Institute and 1st floor in the main hospital

Mammography

Avera St. Luke's Hospital offers 3D mammograms. Mammograms are an important health screening for women ages 40 and older. Request an appointment at this location or call 605-622-2550.

Location: Avera Breast Center on the hospital campus

Visitor Amenities

Enjoy a fireplace, comfortable seating areas, artwork by South Dakota artists, prayer room and nutrition center with free coffee and snacks. There’s also a beautifully landscaped patio to enjoy during the warmer months. Please note that the doors to this patio are not accessible from the outside.
