Lung Cancer Screening
Smokers or former smokers who meet certain criteria may benefit from low-dose CT lung screens, offered in Pipestone. Studies show that screening current and former heavy smokers reduced their risk of dying from cancer by 20 percent. Medicare and most commercial insurance carriers cover this service.

Pregnancy & Birth
Having a baby is an exciting time in a women's life. Our experienced and caring staff will help and support you and your family along the way. You'll find our private OB suites offer the comforts of home for mom and family, with services and amenities that include spa services, special meals, 3-D/4-D ultrasound, certified lactation consults, free follow-up home health nursing checkups and pain control options.
Our New Beginnings class covers all aspects of childbirth, including relaxation and breathing techniques for labor and delivery, pain control options, breastfeeding, baby care, and postpartum care. A personalized tour of the birthing suites is also included.
Pre-registration is necessary as class size is limited. Cost of the class is $45. To register and learn more, call 507-825-6273 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
All new and expecting moms are also invited to the Pipestone Baby Café each Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This unique opportunity provides a friendly and comfortable environment to learn more about breastfeeding, share tips and techniques and socialize with other moms. Our certified lactation consultants and WIC breastfeeding peer counselors will also be on-hand to provide one-on-one help. Moms may also take advantage of baby weigh-ins breastfeeding assessments during this time.

Call our scheduling receptionist at 507-825-5700 or 800-332-1155 to arrange a physician appointment. Tell us the reason for your visit so we can set up the right span of time. Once you schedule an appointment, plan to arrive 15 minutes early.
We offer many outreach specialty services, with visiting physicians in the specialties of cancer care; cardiology; nutrition services; diabetes and endocrinology; ear, nose and throat; ophthalmology; nephrology (kidney care); neurology; and urology. Walk-In Laboratory Appointments
Laboratory appointments are available on a first come, first serve basis during our regular business hours. Check with your provider to find out if you need to fast prior to your lab.

Pay My Bill

- All co-payments are due and payable at the time of service.
- If you receive care for a work related injury, notify the receptionist when you arrive for your appointment.
Help us submit your claims to your insurance company, Medicare or Medicaid by giving our business office accurate insurance policy information. You’re also responsible for negotiating with your insurance carrier.
- All Pipestone County Medical Center Avera providers participate in Medicare and Medicaid.
