Avera MyChart helps you more easily manage your care — from scheduling appointments to seeing prescriptions and lab results and more.

Scheduling and Managing Appointments

Existing Avera patients can schedule, track, reschedule and cancel appointments in MyChart, all online or in the Avera MyChart mobile app. This includes in-person, e-visits and video visits.

  • Existing patients can book appointments online in MyChart with most primary care providers.
  • You may also be able to request an appointment via MyChart with certain providers or clinics. Availability varies.
  • If you’re opted in to email or text messages from Avera, you’ll receive reminders and other notifications about upcoming appointments, plus confirmation messages about cancellations.
  • Managing a Family Member’s Appointments: If you have proxy access to manage another family member’s account, you can manage their appointments in MyChart just like your own. Use the toggle in the top right next to the MyChart logo to switch between accounts.
  • For some specialists, you may need a referral from your primary care provider to schedule an appointment.

Preparing for Your Appointment

If you have an appointment already scheduled after May 30, 2026, save time and reduce paperwork by checking in for your appointment in MyChart online or in the app before you arrive. We encourage you to do this before you leave home to avoid any delays at the front desk and make sure your provider has the latest information before you see them.

  • In MyChart, find your appointment and select the eCheck-In or Get Ready option.
  • Follow the prompts to verify your personal information, contact information and insurance, and any current medications, health issues and allergies.
  • If you also see prompts to sign required documents electronically and answer any questionnaires linked to your visit, complete those steps as well.
