Avera Offers Farm and Rural Stress Hotline
With the recent extreme volatility in the agricultural market, Avera and Avera Behavioral Health have started a new Farm and Rural Stress Hotline available to farmers and ranchers and their families 24/7.
This free and confidential service is now available and will continue to be available for the foreseeable future. The hotline is staffed by trained counselors to help our friends and neighbors in the agricultural community navigate these difficult times.
“This has been an unusually stressful year for the agricultural community,” said Matthew Stanley, DO, Clinical Vice President for Behavioral Health Service Line. “The combination of poor weather conditions and trade turmoil has made things difficult for our farmers and ranchers this past year. Mental health care in our rural population is what we specialize in and we want our agricultural friends to know that we are here for them.”
Extreme weather conditions, long hours and lowered income can cause frustration and anxiety. Avera hopes to help through these challenging times.
Please call 1-800-691-4336 for this service. Again, it is free and confidential.
