New Avera Medical Group Clinic in Windom
Avera Medical Group is constructing a new clinic in Windom, Minn. that will add space and enhance local health services.
The new 12,500-square-foot clinic will accommodate current services, including family practice and obstetrics, along with cardiovascular and coordinated care. Avera eCARE® telemedicine specialty services, along with leading-edge X-ray and laboratory services are also aspects of the new facility.
The new clinic will allow for expanded outreach specialty services by visiting physicians and providers. The new clinic will include onsite 3-D mammography and DEXA scan services that can help measure bone density. Larger, more space-efficient exam and procedure rooms, along with an atrium and reception area round out the improvements.
“The new clinic allows us to add new services and update our technology while we continue providing high-quality services people in our community and region need,” said Jenny Rupp, Avera Medical Group Windom clinic manager. “This opportunity was made with a focus on excellence and convenience for our patients.”
The site is located on the corner of Hospital Drive and Highway 71.
“The new site will really surprise people, and our patients and families will notice how we have incorporated their ideas and feedback into our designs and use of spaces,” said Stephanie Buhler, MD, family practice physician. “We understand the important role close-to-home health care plays in Windom and this part of Minnesota. With the new facility, we’ll continue to provide that care for many years.”
In addition to Buhler, Avera Medical Group providers include Rod Dynes, MD, Mary Olson, MD, and Stephanie Nwala, PA-C. They will move to the new facility in autumn 2020.
As the construction unfolded, Avera partnered with the city of Windom and donated clay fill from the clinic site to expand the Windom Recreation Area. The donation was valued at $75,000; it will allow expansion of the recreation area’s southwest corner. Construction crews removed the fill during the work on the new clinic site.
