Avera McKennan Updating Visitation Policy
Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 26 at Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center, each patient is allowed up to two visitors per day during regular visitor hours (6 a.m. – 8 p.m.). These visitors may not rotate throughout the day and individuals are prohibited from visiting confirmed COVID-19 patients.
Patients and visitors must wear masks within an Avera facility. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided.
“Patient safety is our highest priority, we thank our patients and their families for their cooperation and patience during this time. We know this is difficult for everyone, but it is necessary in order to protect patients and staff,” said Michael Elliott, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center.
Patients and visitors alike are still asked to observe social distancing of at least 6 feet between people whenever possible, for example, at registration areas and in waiting rooms.
