Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center announces appointments to its Board of Directors for its new fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026.

Through research collaboration and community engagement, Avera Research Institute, South Dakota State University and the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine will work to address the health needs of South Dakota.

During September, which is National Suicide Prevention Month, Avera has launched its Ask the Question public service campaign for the fifth year.

Avera Health is named on the Forbes list of America’s Best Employers by State 2026 for South Dakota. Avera ranks third and is the first ranking health care system.

The 18-bed center is devoted to serving women, including pregnant women and mothers with dependent children. It is located across from Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD.

Avera and Avera partner sites are alerting patients about a phishing email that uses the MyChart name and logo to appear legitimate. MyChart is Epic’s patient portal.
