Dr. Amy Elliott is the Chief Clinical Research Officer at Avera Research Institute. She leads the research teams in Sioux Falls, Pine Ridge, Pierre and Rapid City, SD. Her primary focus is improving child health and development through community-based research.
She is also a professor in the Department of Pediatrics with secondary appointments in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine.
Scientific Research Expertise
Dr. Elliott is the principal investigator on several National Institutes of Health (NIH) research projects including the Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) cohort study, examining environmental influences on child health outcomes, and the IDeA States Pediatric Clinical Trial Network (ISPCTN), a pediatric clinical trial research network. Elliott is also the principal investigator for an NIH-funded maternal health center of excellence.
