About Me

Dr. Arielle Deutsch is a research scientist at the Avera Research Institute and an associate professor at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine. She conducts research where she can use scientific and collaborative methods to dive into and find solutions for complex health challenges that communities face. She also has a longstanding interest in examining health challenges through the intersection between biological, psychosocial and environmental factors.

Scientific Research Expertise

Dr. Deutsch focuses the most on health challenges in areas of reproductive and sexual health, alcohol and substance use, and intimate partner and family violence. Her favorite part of what she does is working alongside community members and organizations to contribute to ensuring all people get the support and resources they need to thrive.
