About Me

Dr. Lacey Arneson McCormack is the Director of Rural Research at Avera Research Institute. Her research focuses on how the rural environment shapes individual lifestyle and nutrition-related behaviors, ultimately contributing to health disparities.

Dr. McCormack is a leader in rural and nutrition focused research, having devoted nearly two decades of her career to understanding and promoting health in rural areas.

Scientific Research Expertise

Dr. McCormack leads the evaluation core at Avera Research Institute and serves as project director for the MARCH Maternal Health Research Center of Excellence and the Avera Healthy Start Program. She also has a faculty appointment as an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Dakota School of Medicine.
