About Me

Dr. Rachel Elsey is the Cancer Genomics Pharmacy Coordinator at Avera Cancer Institute, leading research into the impact of genomic and multi-omic biomarkers on cancer treatment responses. She serves as primary investigator for the Avera Cancer Sequencing and Analytics Protocol (ASAP Study), a comprehensive initiative integrating genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, pharmacogenomics, microbiome analysis, social determinants of health (SDOH), and real-world patient data to advance understanding of cancer development and personalize treatment strategies.

Scientific Research Expertise

Dr. Elsey leads the Molecular Tumor Board, facilitating multidisciplinary review of genomic data, biomarkers, and individual patient needs to inform treatment recommendations and optimize patient care.

She holds appointments demonstrating a commitment to medical and pharmaceutical education that focuses on clinical research.
